Instra Corporation is pleased to announce that it has achieved another accreditation in Madagascar’s ccTLD - .MG, growing the number of direct accreditations to more than 100 across Europe, Asia Pacific, North and South America and Africa.
The island of Madagascar is located in the south-east of Africa and is the fourth-largest island in the world. Earlier this year, the Madagascar Network Information Center (NIC-MG), the regulatory authority of .MG migrated their legacy system to EPP-based. The technical changes are also being accompanied by a review of policies and procedures to address abuse of intellectual property rights, cyber-crime and protection of the public interest.
Instra is currently finalizing its connection to NIC-MG’s new system which will allow real time registration and updates of .MG domain names. As our customers, you will be able to register .MG domains instantaneously.

An internationalized domain name (IDN) is an Internet domain name that contains one or more non-ASCII characters. Such domain names could contain letters or characters from non-Latin scripts such as Arabic or Chinese. Instra has taken their domain name offering to the next level beyond Latin Characters. Thru our sophisticated domain portal, companies and individuals can now register domain names in their own native language. Some examples are 品牌.com, marcadefábrica.com etc.
According to research from Global Reach, 65% of Internet users are non-English speakers. By not having an IDN domain name, you could be missing out on an enormous opportunity to address the non-English market. With the increasing number of non-English speaking Internet users, businesses now have the opportunity to further diversify their business and target a wider range of audience via the use of IDNs.
IDNs also make it easier for businesses to promote localized products and services. For example, if you are a locally focused business, whose name and identify is represented in your native language, you no longer need to translate your name, products and services into Latin Characters to fit the web. We have translated the Web to better fit your needs.
With the inception of IDNs, businesses have the ability to protect their brands, trademarks and identities in your native language or any other relevant languages that you deem important to your business.
